Volumes 35 and 36. The Winslow Manor Court Books, Part I, 1327–1377, and Part II, 1423–1460

edited by David Noy (2011)

A translation of the court books of the manor of Winslow (including also Granborough and Little Horwood). The manor belonged to St Albans Abbey, where the books were compiled. They deal with property transactions, inheritance, disputes between tenants, minor misdemeanours, and the organisation and administration of the manor and Winslow market. They include the period of the Black Death, and provide important evidence for its effects. Part I includes the introduction and Part II the indexes. (Not sold separately.)
